Growing together.The Clinical Administrative Coordinator supports intake of referrals of members within the Optum at Home program. This role involves extracting referral information from Optum at Home group mailboxes or SharePoint to review and process the referral within our Electronic Medical Records system according to specific guidelines as appropriate based on type of referral need. This role supports timely notification of inbound referrals allowing members to receive coordination of services for needs identified from external sources such as the Health Plan, OptumCare, Optum Behavioral Health, etc. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment which emphasizes teamwork, quality and performance. The role is virtual, where you can work from your home.This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am – 5:00pm across all U.S. time zones). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.We offer 2 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage intake of referrals for all Optum at Home membership
- Daily work activities include reviewing and processing of new incoming referrals within the Optum at Home group mailboxes or SharePoint and following up on specific referrals to support intended outcomes
- Follow policies and procedures aligned with regulatory and organizational standards
- Accurately documents pertinent information regarding referral information within the Electronic Medical Records System
- Identifies gaps in workflow with referral intake/follow up process
- Recognize that quality is a core component of all work performed
- Navigate and operate multiple technology platforms efficiently
- Maintains confidential health information in compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA

- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1+ years of experience in a healthcare or social work setting
- 1+ year gathering and organizing medical records
- Work experience using Microsoft Word (edit, create & save documents), Microsoft Excel (sorting and filtering data) and Microsoft Outlook (email, folders, attachments and calendars)
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday, during standard business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) across any U.S. time zone
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
