ARL’s purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC). This role will provide systems engineering, computing support, and specialized support services for the enablement of key research and administrative functions by ensuring the security, compliance, functionality, and reliability of research and administrative systems through hands on configuration and support.ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.You will:Perform system and security engineering including coordinating, designing, recommending, evaluating, and managing new and existing security services, controls, solutions, processes, and proceduresRespond and remediate system security vulnerabilitiesImplement, test, and support new and emerging technologies while applying security best practices, as well as required compliance measuresPresent system and network security principles and technology solutions to diverse audiencesConduct risk assessments to determine residual level of risk and any required mitigationsInstall and configure systems to comply with government regulationsCollaborate with Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and other leadership peers regarding enterprise and system-wide computer architecture, capacity planning, security, and usageEnsure proper operational support of systems, servers, and hardware while engaging with stakeholders through a ticketing systemGenerate and maintain system, security, and process documentationParticipate in the implementation of required policies, procedures, and configurations, also making recommendations for improvementsRequired skills/experience areas include:Infrastructure Core Services: Active Directory management, Red Hat IDM management, Virtualization (VMware) administration, Commvault backups, and maintenance of secure Windows and Linux serversDemonstrated experience in the enterprise level administration of both Windows and Linux systemsManagement of enterprise level storage systemsPreferred skills/experience areas include:Demonstrated experience in automating management of Linux and Windows systemsVMware administration (vRealize, vSphere, NSX, SRM)Experience in the development of secure Linux and Windows system baseline configurationsLDAP authentication and managementEnterprise storage resources (ECS, Unity, PowerScale)Systems management (Redhat IDM, AAP)Scripting and automation (Ansible, PowerShell)Active Directory/Group PolicyCurrent eligibility for access to classified information at the Top Secret (Tier 5) level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility, if required.Your working location will be fully on-site, located in State College, PA.
