Job description: Job Title: Distribution DesignerJob DescriptionThis position involves providing distribution design for overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems ranging from 4kV to 69kV. The role includes designing activities, conducting quality reviews, monitoring and maintaining project schedules, reporting changes that impact schedules and budgets, identifying risks, and presenting opportunities for design and construction improvements.Responsibilities
- Design overhead and/or underground distribution facilities.
- Prepare design sketches, drawings, cost estimates, bills of material, and other necessary construction documents.
- Apply standards, guidelines, specifications, practices, and procedures in preparing designs for electric distribution facilities.
- Perform distribution system design calculations.
- Prepare and oversee preparation of design documents, including plans and profiles, structure loadings, design details, trench and conduit drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Communicate with clients and engineers on system requirements and identify Right of Way for proposed equipment.
- Acquire field data as necessary and collaborate with field surveying to prepare appropriate designs.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in drafting using AutoCAD and Microstation.
- Experience in piping design and traffic control drafting.
- One to two years of design experience using Microstation or AutoCAD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and computer-aided design (CAD) or in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent experience and/or education.
Work EnvironmentThis position is 100% remote, offering a flexible working schedule.
