This role requires an individual with extensive expertise in HVAC systems, construction management, and commissioning processes. The successful candidate will act as the Commissioning Authority throughout all project phases, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.Responsibilities:
- Act as the Commissioning Authority throughout all project phases, including pre-design, design, construction, TAB verification, functional performance testing, and project completion.
- Oversee the commissioning process to ensure all building systems meet operational, safety, and efficiency standards.
- Provide expert oversight on commercial HVAC systems, including design, construction, installation, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB).
- Troubleshoot operational issues with building automation and temperature control systems to ensure system functionality.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize project delivery.
- Ensure all work meets quality assurance and control standards.
- Implement and oversee safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, security, and compliance requirements throughout all project phases.
- Manage contracts, including negotiations, modifications, and compliance monitoring.
- Oversee contractor performance to ensure alignment with project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
Ideal ProfileQualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in commissioning and construction management, particularly in large-scale projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification is required.
- Certified Commissioning Professional (BCxP, CxA, or equivalent) preferred.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certifications are highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools to ensure efficient project tracking and reporting.
