Job description: ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Intensive Care Unit provides exceptional care for critically ill adult patients. Patients may require frequent critical care assessments, invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drug therapy, continuous renal replacement therapy, and rapid sequence intubation.The major diagnoses cared for in the Medical Intensive Care Unit include, but are not limited to, respiratory failure requiring ventilator support, severe sepsis/septic shock, anaphylaxis, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal/liver failure, accidental/intentional overdose, behavioral health, and DKA/HHS on insulin infusion.The Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and supervises the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24 hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit specific patient population.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED: * BSN degree
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
- One (1) year of experience in clinical specialty.
- Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
- Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
