Job DescriptionPatrick & Henry Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution committed to student success, lifelong learning, and enrichment of the quality of life in the region it serves. Serving Martinsville, Henry County, Patrick County, and the southern portion of Franklin County, P&HCC is a comprehensive open-door institution, accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate degree. Patrick & Henry offers 29 associate degree programs, 12 certificate programs and 38 career studies certificate programs. The college also delivers a variety of nontraditional programs such as customized workforce development training, industry-recognized certifications, developmental and transitional programs, and courses for personal enrichment.Organizational Objective:

Knowledge and understanding of specific needs of under-served populations and a commitment to helping these individuals attain educational success are critical responsibilities of our institution.We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Instructor to teach electrical training leading to NC3 Greenlee and potentially NCCER industry-recognized certifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of areas including, but not limited to, hand bending, advanced bending, wire pathways knockout and rotary, branch and series level termination, service level termination, conductor fishing and pulling, three phase testing, insulation and ground rod resistance testing, and basic electrical installation. Instruction may be provided utilizing a mobile training lab at off campus sites including correctional facilities. Caring Campus is a collective effort to make students and employees feel welcome and connected to our college by instilling uplifting behaviors such as wearing name tags, warmly connecting students to necessary personnel, and openly engaging with students.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a structured curriculum preparing students to earn NC3 Greenlee certifications.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback, guidance, and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
- Ensure that students understand and follow safety procedure when handling and operating equipment.
- Administer written and practical exams to evaluate student performance and understanding in preparation for certification.
- Maintain and prepare teaching materials, instructional aids, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with correctional facility guidelines and quality standards.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Will be required to travel to P&HCC sites as well as regional correctional facilities.
Special AssignmentsMay be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA’s/Required QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: Work experience in residential, industrial, or commercial electricity is required.Additional Considerations
- An electrician degree or certification, such as Greenlee or NCCER.
- Training and/or teaching experience is preferred.
