Job description: Reports to: Clinical Coordinator or designee for the area assigned and Radiologic Technology Department ChairSupervises: Students enrolled in the MR certificate programBasic Functions: Provide guidance, instruction, practice, oversight, and assessment in coordination with the syllabus and faculty Clinical Coordinator with respect to the clinical site staff, supervisors, and management.Community College of Denver’s educational programs are designed to enrich the social, civic, and economic fabric of our community, nation, and the world. CCD provides access and opportunity for nontraditional students, workforce development, and training resources for local organizations and community partnerships that are improving graduation and completion for career success.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Instruct and mentor students in the post-primary certificate program at their clinical settings.Work effectively within a small group of colleagues.Develop and maintain positive relationships with the site affiliate clinical staff, supervisors, and management.Uphold confidentiality and privacy requirements for students and patients at the clinical site and beyond.Report specific discipline issues following the chain of command. First to the Program Coordinator, then Program Director who will follow up with the clinical site as necessary.Complete all required student evaluations, image and procedure grades and submit to Program Coordinator as designated.Assure attendance log and contact information is accurate and complete.Promote a professional image and standard by abiding with all relevant College and System policies.Conduct all College business using the CCD email accountCheck CCD email account at least every 48 hours during the teaching week and respond promptly to messages.Qualifications: Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.Education: ARRT Certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist R.T. (R) and in good standing. Post- primary ARRT certification in Magnetic ResonanceBachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.Current Basic Life support (AHA-BLS) certificationExperience: 4000 documented hours of experience as an ARRT registered technologistPass the CCD Background check and drug screen before hireHave the ability to obtain Colorado credential for vocational faculty through submission of prior work experience documentation, and transcripts of educationKnowledge: Skilled in all areas of magnetic resonance imaging to include physical principals, digital terminology, image quality, routine and specialized imaging procedures and protocals. Mastery of MR safety protocols is required. Knowledge of effective patient care to include HIPAA, sterile techniques, emergency protocol, safe and ergonomic patient transfer techniques. Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products, the learning management system (D2L), and other software products as necessary.
