Job description: SummaryManages all the business functions of the Transportation Services Department including project recordkeeping; asset management; purchasing and procurement; budget coordination, input, monitoring, and adjustments; human resources; payroll administration; accounts payable and receivable; the development of Commissioners Court communications, and all other business, administrative and clerical functions of the department. Oversees the financial tracking of bond programs, capital projects, professional services agreements, and fees collected by the department. Ensures all staff and department activities comply with County and department policies, practices, and regulations. Minimum RequirementsNOTE: You must fill out the work history and education sections of application to show you have years of experience/education as required by hiring department or be disqualified.Must have a Bachelor’s degree in business related field + Three (3) years of full-time work experience in related field (administrative, payroll, human resources, purchasing, accounting, or recordkeeping) required, SAP experience preferred.Must have an Associate’s degree in business related field + Five (5) years of full-time work experience in related field (administrative, payroll, human resources, purchasing, accounting, or recordkeeping) required, SAP experience preferred.Must have a High School Degree or GED + Seven (7) years of full-time work experience in related field (administrative, payroll, human resources, purchasing, accounting, or recordkeeping) required, SAP experience preferredEffective verbal and written communication skills, excellent math and accounting skills, ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented, and proficient typing and computer knowledge including spreadsheet and other common office applications required.Knowledge of County policies and procedures preferred.IF HIRED, MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT AT NEW HIRE PROCESSING OR DURING THE PROMOTIONAL PROCESS.Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. Each case is considered individually.Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, be exposed to burns, carry, climb, climb stairs, be exposed to electrical hazards, grasp/squeeze, use hand tools, hear, keyboard, kneel, lift below the waist, lift to the side/twist, use material handling equipment, tolerate noise, tolerate hot and cold outside temperatures, pull, push, reach, perform repetitive tasks, see color, see far, see near, sit, negotiate slippery surfaces, be exposed to solvents, squat, stand, stoop, talk, twist, use his/her hands, drive a vehicle, walk, use hands spread wide, work at heights, work alone and with others, and work overtime. Expected salary: $2862.76 – 3149.04 per month
