The AI/ML intern will contribute to HMI’s R&D efforts to explore, test and build cutting-edge AI/ML applications throughout the entire portfolio.Job Responsibilities
- Conceptualize solutions and architectures for AI idea proposals
- Explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies
- Create proof-of-concepts for AI proposals
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, industrial/mechanical engineering, or a related discipline with demonstrated course work in data science or ML projects
- Hands-on experience in using ML libraries, such as Numpy or Pandas
- Practical experience working in a programming language, such as Python or R, for ML projects
- Ideal candidate understands and has experience in working with concepts, such as LLMs, RAG, GraphRAG and knowledge graphs
- Knowledge of mechanical/industrial engineering processes and practical uses for software applications in those industries
- Eagerness to explore emerging concepts and technical ideas
- Can work autonomously, especially in exploratory phases of research
- Ability to work Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week during the summer break.
