This approach, coupled with our dynamic working environment, make Siegfried an attractive employer.Your roleSUMMARY:The incumbent provides direct technical and engineering support to Production, Environmental, Chemical Development, Maintenance and Project Engineering groups within the Grafton facility.ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for the evaluation and realization of all capital improvement projects from idea initiation through construction/commissioning/start-up
- Responsible for the development of Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR’s) and supporting documentation to secure the necessary funding for capital projects in accordance with the corporate CAR submittal procedure
- Ensures that the Capital Investment program follows good engineering practice and cGMP. This includes following standard operating procedures for engineering projects, ISPE Baseline documents (Commissioning and Qualification, Bulk Pharmaceutical Chemicals) and Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP).
- Ensures personal compliance and contract engineer(s) – follow good project management practices in managing scope, cost, documentation and scheduling
- Coordinates the upgrade to or modification of existing equipment, at internal customer’s request. This includes any required engineering, arranging for implementation of the work either by Siegfried’s maintenance department or contractors, field supervision of construction activities, and startup support.
- Provides support to Operations and Maintenance personnel on process and equipment related problems
- Develops and executes equipment qualification protocols on new and existing equipment
- Provides technical support by performing equipment research, field measurements, sizing of new equipment, supervising start-up, and writing SOP’s for new equipment
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Siegfried corporate Capital Request process
- Performs overall quality control of assigned project work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel performance) and reports regularly on project status at review meetings, etc.
- Work closely with the Engineering Manager to execute and manage both the site annual Capital Plan and the site 5 Year Capital Plan
- Represents Engineering department as required on Process Hazard Analysis/Process Safety Review teams
- Adheres to personal, moral, ethical, legal, and behavioral conduct that is in compliance with the Siegfried Code of Conduct
- Adheres to all applicable SOPS, SHE and cGMP regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Your profileEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a desired 5 to 10 + years project management/engineering experience in either a bulk pharmaceutical or fine chemicals environment
- Excellent project management skills strongly desired
- Knowledge of cGMP’s and process system documentation and validation strongly desired
- Knowledge of Auto Cad or other computerized drawing management system strongly desired.
- Knowledge of OSHA and Process Safety Management (PSM) a desired plus.
- Knowledge of Work Order Maintenance system (Blue Mountain or equal) a desired plus.
