Job description: Responsibilities
- Manage the overall business plan of a multifamily development project from start to finish
- Manage the entire development process including feasibility analysis, acquisition, deal structuring, design development, financing, public approvals, construction, marketing, leasing and close-out
- Manage the project’s overall underwriting and coordinate the underwritten budget with actual project budget
- Manage the Due diligence process for new projects. i.e., Geotech, Environmental, survey and title
- Interacting with attorneys, title agents, brokers, land sellers, partners, and lenders during the real estate purchasing process
- Manage Compliance with the Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) which includes meeting design and permitting milestones, as well as the management of Earnest Money and project closing
- Interact with various jurisdictional and municipal authorities to obtain proper approvals and permits
- Work collaboratively with the project design team of Architects, Engineers, Designers, etc. to design a project that is competitive in the market and meets the project’s financial goals
- Work collaboratively with an in-house Construction Manager to ensure the development stays on schedule and budget
- Manage the branding and marketing teams and coordinate with related parties to ensure the project meets the project’s financial goals
- Manage the financial draw and reporting process with the Lender and 3rd Party Equity Partners
- Manage relationships with Equity Partners and Lenders to ensure successful completion of the project in compliance with the business plan
- Collaborate with the Leasing staff, Asset Managers, and Investors to manage the lease-up process
- Manage the sales process in conjunction with property management and investment sales brokers
Qualifications
- 3 – 7 years of work experience in real estate development, finance, construction, or project management
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- A general knowledge of real estate and financial concepts
- Self-motivated, polished, professional with a high work ethic
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and to able to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Excellent leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills are essential
- Effective oral and written communication skills are required
