Job description: Description of WorkThe Division of Public Health Budget Office is responsible for all budget actions, providing reports, and processing AP invoices — all instruments that allow DPH programs to operate. We help manage funds from the initial request through closeout.The Business Officer supports the Budget Office in the Administrative, Local Community Support Section of the Division and is responsible for the budgetary and fiscal operations of the assigned program, as well as demonstrating knowledge of their assigned programs. The primary job functions include ensuring and analyzing proper expenditure and budgeting of federal receipts, special funds, and state appropriations. The position is responsible for the preparation of continuation and expansion biennium budget requests, budget revision preparation, annual and monthly budget certification activities, year-end closeout activities, grant management and reconciliation, cost allocation activities, monitoring of revenue and receipts and reporting.About the Division of Public Health and the Budget Office:

- Ability to work with various people and units within an organization.
Management Preferences:
- Ability to organize, manipulate and present financial data in Excel with high efficiency (intermediate excel skill level)
- Experience budgeting grants, which have different budget periods from the state fiscal year
- Ability to review financial and operating budget reports for accuracy and identifying issues or potential issues.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or other discipline related to the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive related experience, two years of which should be in a supervisory role;
