Job description: Freelance Assistant Technical Designer for Kids Wear companyFull time on-site project could be anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months.Hourly rate of $20-30.Responsibilities
- Support the apparel design team as the fit expert for all styles of all brands
- Assist in fit sessions with models and designers
- Once style/fit samples are approved, grade the specs for the desired sizes
- Transfer the fit notes to the factory and answer their questions in revising a sample
- Assist in design and development by flat sketching and tech packing
- Communicates with internal team and vendors
- When necessary, assist in making adjustments to patterns and samples for fit sessions
Requirements
- Bachelors (BFA, BS, or BSCS) with specialization in apparel design
- Completed courses in pattern making, advanced sewing/construction, tailoring and draping
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Experienced in pattern making, sewing, grading, tech packing, flat sketching and fitting
- Strong understanding of Adobe Illustrator and digital pattern design
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel for specking and grading purposes
- Experienced in the apparel design process and knowledgeable of bulk production process
- Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, self-starter and a team worker
Expected salary: $20 – 30 per hour
