Job title: Electrical Design Engineer-Construction

Job description: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a respected engineering consultancy known for delivering innovative K–12, commercial, and municipal building projects across Virginia. They will lead full-cycle electrical design projects—from concept and load calculations to construction and commissioning—while collaborating closely with cross-functional design teams.
- Type: Fulltime (Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of electrical design, including load calculations, layouts, and equipment selection.
- Develop and review comprehensive design documents, specifications, and construction packages.
- Collaborate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant codes, project schedules, and budget requirements.
- Attend client meetings to define project scope, present updates, and resolve technical issues.
- Provide construction-phase support by managing RFIs, submittals, and conducting necessary site visits.
- Support commissioning and quality assurance processes for final project delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- 8+ years of experience in electrical building systems design (specifically K–12, commercial, or municipal projects).
- EIT license (Virginia) is required; PE license is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- LEED Accreditation is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proven technical problem-solving abilities.
