Summary of Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdministrative support and data maintenance.
- Develop academic class schedules for each term in Banner Student. Communicate with all academic departments on deadlines and expectations. Requires extensive knowledge of Banner-Student.
- Process schedule corrections in a timely manner.
- Monitor online chatbot. Connect inquiries with program coordinator when appropriate.
- Check eCampus admissions and enrollments.
- Manage organization chart updates semi-annually for all campus administrative units.
- Coordinate schedule, facilitate meetings, and travel coordination and other administrative support to assistant and associate provosts, and others within the Provost Office as needed.
- Update academic programs on murraystate.edu/programs to reflect changes that have been made through Academic Council.
- Coordinate Faculty Recognition Banquet, including meal selection, awards for presentation, presentation script, years of service monitoring, etc.
- Serve as recording secretary for Graduate Studies Committee of Academic Council.
- Work VPAA events such as Faculty Banquet and other administration events, 1-2 times per year, occasionally on nights and weekends.
- Hire, supervise, and create work schedules for students workers. Coordinate EPAFs, I9s, and background checks for all Provost Office student employees.
- Provide administrative support to the Office of Sponsored Programs, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements
- Two years of college.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
- Four years of upper-level office experience in a business, government, or industrial setting. Additional college and related experience may be exchanged year-for-year to meet qualifications.
- Alertness, initiative, attention to accuracy, memory for oral and written directions of details, ability to plan and make decisions often without instruction or supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Keyboarding, office management and procedures, word processing, database management, and other office machines.
- Excellent decision-making skills, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Pleasant disposition and demeanor.
- Ability to multi-task.
