Job description: Overview:This is a provisional appointment.Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for all components of screening, processing, and programming Boston Police Department-issued ID’s for contractors as well as new and existing employees. Responsibilities:
- Maintains and updates Comnetix data (using personnel orders); picture taking; fingerprinting, running, and reviewing the BOP’s using the CJIS system.
- Coordinates drug testing, printing ID’s, and programming ID’s.
- Prepares routine audits for all employees whose photo ID is older than three (3) years old.
- Prepares routine audits for all active contractors with access.
- De-programs and collects ID’s upon termination, resignation or retirement.
- Performs CJIS Offline Requests through the Office of Internal Affairs and/or Anti-Corruption.
- Processes the Commonwealth of Massachusetts ID’s for active/inactive sworn members of the department.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional or technical experience in database management, data reporting, or related field; working knowledge of personal computers and various software packages.
- Two (2) years may be substituted with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Preference will be given to applicants with experience fingerprinting, using Comnetix, or using the CJIS system.
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and is strongly preferred.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
