We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Test Fixture Designer at our current Brockton, MA location which is relocating to a new facility in Stoughton within the next few weeks.Summary: Position will be responsible for specification development, design and fabrication of mechanical and electrical test fixtures to support the prototype, pilot and production needs of the company. This role uses SolidWorks CAD and other design tools to design and document the test devices, completes research into the equipment available to achieve the test requirements and works with internal and external suppliers to build and assemble the fixtures for use.Essential functions:
- Design, fabricate and repair electrical test adapters and fixtures.
- Research available equipment to perform the needed tests and adapt the selected test device to the application requiring it.
- Design, develop and test the mechanical assembly fixtures needed for new or existing products
- Assist with design verification and other product testing when requested.
- Assemble prototype interconnects and cable assemblies.
- Soldering of wires, circuit board assembly, connector core assembly.
Skills/Qualifications Needed:
- Minimum of 5 or more years of related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Solid understanding of electronic and electrical components, electronic circuitry design experience.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks CAD is needed, LabVIEW experience is a plus.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Visio,).
- Ability to operate Oscilloscopes, LCR meters, function generators, network analyzers, DMM’s, and/or circuit analyzers.
- Small part assembly skills, good hand/eye coordination.
Desired Skills:
- Connector and cable assembly experience
- Experience working in a production environment.
- Visio or other electrical CAD software.
- Experience working in the medical device field.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
