Job description: We are a boutique, mission-driven architecture firm seeking a thoughtful, detail-oriented Interior Designer / Architect to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with existing buildings, enjoys bridging architecture and interiors, and thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment.Responsibilities
- Lead design and documentation for architectural and interior scopes, from concept through construction.
- Work independently to develop interior design packages including space planning, finish selection, and interior elevations.
- Prepare detailed furniture specifications and coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and procurement teams.
- Source and specify materials, fixtures, and furnishings aligned with project goals and budgets.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients throughout all project phases.
- Research and document existing conditions for historic or reuse projects.
- Participate in Revit production – setting up drawing sheets, preparing drawings and details.
- Participate in construction administration, including site visits and RFIs.

- Professional degree in architecture or interior design.
- 7–10 years minimum experience, including work on historic or adaptive reuse projects.
- Strong design sensibility, technical skills and attention to detail, across both architecture and interiors.
- Strong experience composing material palettes, preparing interior elevations, furniture specifications, and material schedules.
- Working proficiency in Revit, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
- Comfortable coordinating directly with vendors and sourcing FF&E.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both in person and via remote collaboration tools.
- Licensed or on path to licensure (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards is a plus.
- Rendering experience in Twinmotion or Enscape is a strong plus.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, and a problem-solving attitude are a must.
- Candidates must be local to Chicago
