In this role you will drive sales growth and expand market presence by identifying new business opportunities, strengthen existing client relationships, and maximize profitability within the smart infrastructure business segment. You will develop and execute strategic plans to drive revenue while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure alignment with the company’s goals and values. Up to 20% travel required.As the primary point of contact you must be able to understand customer needs, build strong, trust-based relationships, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction in order to provide tailored solutions that match each customer’s unique needs while maintaining open, effective communication, driving customer loyalty and facilitating mutual growth and success to grow market share, revenues and profitability.Routine responsibilities will require you to:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while managing and converting a pipeline of sales prospects.
- Create and implement business strategies for your dedicated segment (smart infrastructure) that drive revenue growth and ensure financial stability and profitability.
- Drive profitable growth by negotiating and securing new accounts, cross-selling products, and promoting the value proposition to customers.
- Analyze market trends to identify future opportunities for product and service development. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of TR products and sales materials to effectively position offerings within the industry.
- Communicate growth strategies, market opportunities, and business performance metrics to stakeholders, direct management and executive leadership.
- Actively engage with members of the global team and sales engineers to support key customer-facing activities, conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), implement and negotiate price adjustments, manage excess and obsolete products, and overseeing contract renewals to enhance customer engagement and contribute to sustained business growth.
- Provide insights and reports based on strategic decision-making to ensure business objectives align with the expectations and goals of the company.
- Work with engineering teams to align business strategies with innovative solutions to meet client needs, enhance product offerings, and maintain a competitive edge.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to ensure customer needs are met and identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor and manage customer margin levels, ensuring sustainable profitability.
- Prepare and conduct contract negotiations, manage customer agreements, and implement price increases where applicable. Respond to sales inquiries with timely and effective solutions.
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of business development and/or sales experience in the manufacturing or engineering industries; experience selling components and/or fasteners is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and D365 literacy.
- Proven ability to identify and secure new business opportunities, manage sales pipelines, and achieve sales targets, KPIs, and revenue objectives.
- Strong ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships, conduct business reviews, and provide excellent customer service.
- Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and presentation skills with the ability to manage contracts, pricing, and agreements effectively.
- Ability to analyze market trends, identify business growth opportunities, and develop tailored sales strategies.
- Ability to cross-sell a range of products and effectively promote the TR value proposition.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and prioritize business development activities.
- Clear driving license and the flexibility to travel within the assigned geographical area as needed.
