The team is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for the position of Business Development, Director who is a specialist focused on building out new business relationships and partnerships focused on targeted commerce experiences by verticals.You will work independently to help create the strategy and foundation in building affiliate products and partnerships for the new areas of focus. In this role, you will identify and execute on key partnerships to help us build products that connect users to brands throughout their purchasing journey, whether in the discovery, exploratory, or execution stage(s). You will be the expert in the line of business and help communicate with the Yahoo teams on how best we can service partners and Yahoo users. You will do market analysis and proactively make recommendations based on market data, help drive business planning, build a framework for the business to execute on, identify business partners, draft and execute agreements, communicate partner requirements and needs, and overall, start our path to creating a new revenue stream for the team. As a key partner in the success of the business, you will engage directly with multiple Yahoo stakeholders which require presentations and regular updates on progress made.ResponsibilitiesBuild a strong knowledge of affiliate Commerce across various Commerce verticalsPerform market analysis to identify partner prospectsBuild pitches that clearly illustrates partner opportunities and value in working with YahooWork with products teams on product innovation based on partner insightsTeam up with Yahoo’s legal team to negotiate term sheets and contractsTeam up with Yahoo’s finance team to build realistic financial modelsDevelop and present clear strategic and financial rationale for deals as well as risks and mitigation plansPrepare internal deal update presentations for team awareness, communication, and prioritizationCreate and lead process to obtain documentations for leadership approvalsCreate operational workflows for the partner management team to execute against, including day-to-day tasks and milestonesIdentify and outline data points and performance metrics of interest and ensure goals are trackable and attainableBe the go-to person and guide for the product, marketing, finance, strategy, operations and reporting/accounting teams in getting questions answeredBe the project manager and coordinate internally and externally all tasks necessary to execute on new partnerships effectivelyBasic Skills/Requirements:8+ years of relevant Business Development experience, including experience in the Commerce spaceAbility to independently identify, analyze, negotiate and execute BD dealsComplete fluency interpreting, drafting and negotiating contractsTeam player who always considers the impact to Yahoo’s goals, their team, & partnersExperience in building close “trusted advisor” relationships with external partnersExperience managing peer relationshipsDemonstrated success working in a cross-functional environmentStrong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)Go getter/hunter/closer/entrepreneurCan do, resilient and positive attitudeAbility to work well under pressure/tight timeframesBA/BS requiredPreferred Skills/Qualifications:Thorough understanding of the commerce affiliate network/business10-15+ years of professional experience and strong proven credentials doing end-to-end business developmentEffective project management skills to manage multiple deals with varying prioritiesOutstanding verbal, presentation & written communication skills directed to day-to-day contacts & up to C-level executivesStrong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote and SalesforceBA/BS degree in either business, computer science, marketing or equivalent experienceThe material job duties and responsibilities of this role include those listed above as well as adhering to Yahoo policies; exercising sound judgment; working effectively, safely and inclusively with others; exhibiting trustworthiness and meeting expectations; and safeguarding business operations and brand integrity.At Yahoo, we offer flexible hybrid work options that our employees love! The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
