Work requires sound independent professional judgment and responsibility in performing complex plan review of construction documents, involving the application of electrical engineering principles in all phases of plan review with enforcement of the National Electrical Code and County and National Codes.About The Agency:The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) is responsible for coordinating and enforcing standards that control what goes on before, during, and after construction. Staff from nine agencies, who work cooperatively on permit processing, business licensing, plan review, inspection and enforcement comprise Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement. The Mission of the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement is to promote economic development in Prince George’s County and protect the safety of County residents, businesses, and visitors through efficient permitting, inspection and licensing services to ensure compliance with established building, zoning and property standards codes.Examples of Work
- Always reviews assigned plans within guidelines established by the Unit Supervisor
- Thoroughly and completely reviews, with knowledge of good engineering practice, electrical plans of a broad scope and complexity for compliance with National codes in the area of Electrical Engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering plus 4yrs of experience in the electrical design or plan review.
- Engineering degree can be substituted by 6yrs of relative work experience in design, plan review, inspection, in electrical engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ICC electrical plan review
- Engineer in training
