Job description: POSITION: Part Time Instructor of Theatre, Costume Director/Costume DesignerThe Department of Art, Music, and Theatre Arts at Cameron University is seeking an energetic, versatile faculty member to teach courses in the BA Theatre major.RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach two courses per semester. Design and create (build, pull, purchase as needed etc.) costumes for university theatre productions and/or mentor undergraduate costume designers/assistant costume designers. Course possibilities include: Costume Techniques, Stage Management, Make-Up, Advanced Makeup, possible sections of General Education courses, and/or proposed seminars.In addition to designing one mainstage theatre production per semester and teaching two courses each semester, this position also requires a commitment to departmental duties to include the following:
- Attendance at department and theatre area-specific meetings
- Keeping regular office hours each week
- Maintaining day-to-day needs of costume shop and student-workers in costume shop
- Attendance at weekly production meetings when in rehearsals for production this position directs each semester
- Mentor undergraduate students for costuming capstone as/if needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BFA degree in Costuming/Theatre with Costuming Concentration with three or more years’ professional costuming/theatre experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: MFA degree in Costuming/Theatre with Costuming Concentration with three or more years of professional costuming/theatre experience and college/university teaching.SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with Education and Experience. $20,000INSTITUTION: Cameron University (http://www.cameron.edu) is a five-year, state-supported regional institution located in Lawton, Oklahoma.
