Job description: Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and skilled individual to join our engineering team as an Engineering Admin / Laser Engraver. This role combines administrative responsibilities with hands-on operation of laser engraving equipment. The ideal candidate will possess technical proficiency in laser engraving techniques and software, alongside strong organizational skills to support engineering activities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to engineering staff and engineering management.
- Maintain and update engineering documents, records, and databases.
- Manage inventory of engineering supplies and equipment.
- Act as a point of contact between engineering staff and other departments.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
- Operate laser engraving equipment to engrave designs, logos, and text on various materials according to specifications.
- Set up and maintain laser engraving machines, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Inspect finished engraved products for quality and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role.
- Proven experience in laser engraving operations, including setup, operation, and maintenance of laser engraving equipment.
- Technical proficiency with laser engraving software and systems.
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma; additional qualifications in Office Administration are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with CAD software for design preparation.
- Knowledge of different materials and their compatibility with laser engraving processes.
