Lifetouch is seeking a Photography Development and Training Specialist to champion the quality, consistency, and creativity of our Retail Photography experience. In this multifaceted role, you’ll lead photography development (50%), support field training (25%), and ensure top-tier image quality (25%). Collaborating across Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Creative, and Field Leadership, you’ll deliver innovative photographic solutions, empower photographers through training and recognition, and uphold our commitment to exceptional imagery that captures life’s most memorable moments.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Photography Development (50%)
- Leads and supports the development of new photographic concepts, including props, backgrounds, lighting and equipment to ensure quality, safety and brand standards.
- Manages the internal photography calendar in partnership with the Creative team to meet business and marketing timelines.
- Coordinates and leads model photography sessions for marketing, training and business initiatives.
- Partners cross-functionally (Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Training & Quality) to ideate, test and implement new photographic products, processes and equipment.
- Manages the photo development budget in collaboration with Director, Photography Strategy and Supply Chain to drive efficiency in props and backgrounds.
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) across all Lifetouch business units for photography development and standards.
- Acts as Project Manager on cross-functional initiatives to deliver new photographic concepts and tools.
Field Training Support (25%)
- Provides support to 50/50 Field Trainers ensuring consistency and alignment with company initiatives.
- Partners closely with the Manager of Photography Training & Quality to launch and sustain new initiatives in the field.
- Assists in the development and delivery of training materials, resources and tools (e.g., pose guides, best practice tip sheets, interactive lessons, videos).
- Supports facilitation of training sessions virtually, in-person and on-location to roll out new initiatives or provide continued education for photographers.
- Acts as “voice of the field,” sharing feedback, wins and challenges to inform photography and operational decisions.
Image Quality and Recognition (25%)
- Drives photographic improvement by identifying opportunities in lighting, posing and detail then develops tools and resources to address gaps.
- Evaluates photography submissions (e.g., The Focus Book, PhotoShare) and provides feedback to drive skill development and consistency.
- Supports the development and execution of field photography recognition programs (e.g., The Focus Book, Annual Contests) to increase engagement, retention, and performance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support company events and meetings, including photography-related content.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer, employee, and company data.
- Promote and help administer recognition programs (e.g., Everyday Hero).
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Design, or related field-or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in photography operations, with strong artistic and technical skills.
- 3-5 years studio photography experience.
- 3+ years project management experience, including budget alignment.
- Proven success working cross-functionally across teams.
Skills & Abilities
- Deep technical knowledge of cameras, lighting, and mobile photography kits.
- Experience supporting distributed field teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through.
- Skilled collaborator with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Capable of managing competing priorities and leading change effectively.
