Advantra is partnering with a Seed stage CPG SaaS startup in New York to hire a Founding Product Designer to lead the design of AI-powered tools for internal and external users.About the role:
You will define and lead design across the core product, create prototypes, establish design systems, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver user-focused solutions.Responsibilities: * Lead design and user experience for core product features from prioritization through launch.
- Rapidly prototype new features for testing and feedback.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine product vision.
- Establish and maintain design systems and brand guidelines.
- Drive internal design collaboration processes.
- Conduct customer research sessions to gather actionable insights.
- Aggregate and communicate research findings to cross-functional teams.
- Translate complex workflows into intuitive user interfaces.
- Defend design decisions while balancing product and policy considerations.
Core requirements: * 3+ years of product design experience, ideally in a startup environment.
- End-to-end UX and UI experience for products with complex workflows.
- Demonstrated visual design skills with a strong understanding of UX principles.
- Experience leading customer research sessions and synthesizing insights.
- Ability to articulate design decisions to product managers, engineers, and executives.
- Proven track record of shipping user-facing designs.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Suite).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience contributing to product strategy from a design perspective.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of design initiatives.
Nice to have: * Experience designing AI-driven applications.
- Familiarity with CPG industry workflows.
- Knowledge of design systems implementation.
- Experience mentoring junior designers.
- Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design standards.
