The position is intended to be a full-time opportunity for a science undergraduate to obtain hands-on laboratory experience in an industry leading research group while contributing to the overall company goals.Essential DutiesInclude, but are not limited to, the following:
- Carry out basic laboratory experiments.
- Assist with general laboratory duties.
- Perform data analysis and generate conclusions.
- Present data to team members.
- Plan follow-up experiments.
- Work with various laboratory equipment, including automated liquid handlers.
- Display attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
- Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
Scheduling requirements:
- Ability to work designated schedule.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 30% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work seated for approximately 30% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 70% of a typical working day.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for approximately 10% of a typical working day.
- Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability to use various types of laboratory equipment, including pipettes, centrifuges, sample mixers, and automation equipment for extended periods of time.
- May perform repetitive actions using lab tools.
- Ability to use near vision to view samples at close range.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a field of Life Sciences.
- Preference given to candidates with a record of outstanding academic achievement.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
