Our customers and community members know that they can rely on us for Legendary Service and quality products.Job title: Truss Designer IIPay: Starting at $33 to $38 an hour, depending on experience.Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30pmLocation: Woodinville, WashingtonThe Designer II is responsible for turning the customer’s vision into reality by creating designs based on the customer’s needs. This position reports directly to the General Manager or Assistant Plant Manager and works closely with the Sales team.Qualifications
- 4+ years of designing trusses in MiTek required
- 4 years of prior experience within the construction industry
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Proficient at reading blueprints
- Knowledgeable in the construction industry
- Proficient at working with design software
- Proficient in engineering fundamentals
- Strong math skills
- Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
- Must be able to type 40+ WPM
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates designs for all assigned jobs based on the plan and quote specifications provided by the customer and sales team
- Maintains detailed records and reports of related information on a job to job basis
- Collaborates with the sales team and others as necessary
- Visits with job site supervisors to ensure any issues that arise are resolved properly
- Read and interpret blueprints provided by customers
- Designing truss’s that conform to building requirements and codes
- Responsible for taking a job from start to finish with little to no direction
- Working with larger regional accounts
- Perform other related duties as assigned
The primary working conditions for this position are in an office environment with a computer.Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to work in an office environment
- Both local and overnight travel may be required
- Ability to utilize all appropriate safety equipment
