Job description: DescriptionRoadway DesignerRole Description: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Roadway Designer with 15 years of experience in our Oklahoma City office (primarily remote work from home). This role will be responsible for preparing detailed design drawings and construction plans for transportation infrastructure, including highways, roadways, and bridges. Utilizes CAD and design software to create alignments, profiles, cross sections, and structural details in compliance with local, state, and federal standards. Works closely with engineers to translate conceptual layouts into accurate, buildable plans. Supports plan production, quantity calculations, and design documentation for PS&E submittal. Ensures accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project schedules and design criteria.Location: Oklahoma City, OklahomaEmployment Type: 40 FT HoursCompensation Type: SalaryDuties:
- Design with plan production for roadway and bridge projects.
- Design plan production on border wall projects.
- Design projects with State and local community projects.
- Interface with ODOT submittal processes.
- Familiar with ODOT and TxDOT design criteria and processes.
- Completion of full production of Plans, Specifications and Estimates on various civil projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.
- Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client).
- Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects.
- Cultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clients.
- Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars’ business process including weekly rhythm.
- Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy.
- Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
- Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff.
- Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.

Qualifications:
- 15 years of experience of roadway and bridge design and drafting.

Physical Requirements:
