Growing together.Reporting to the Product Design Director, this position supports the Utilization Management and Affordability Regulatory and Compliance initiatives through creative ideation and solution development.Principle duties and responsibilities: This position is a strategic and user-centered Product Designer to join our Utilization Management (UM) and Affordability product team. The candidate will design both customer-facing products and digital tools that interface clinicians, care managers, and patients to assist in the navigation of the complex landscape of healthcare utilization and cost transparency.This position will work at the intersection of clinical and claim workflows, providers, and patient experience—crafting intuitive, compliant, and scalable solutions that improve care efficiency while reducing unnecessary costs. The focus of this role is for regulatory and compliance designs, including but not limited to, state regulatory requirements and provider contractual exceptions.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end experiences that focus on the regulatory or compliance needs to support prior authorization, care coordination, claim processes, and cost estimation
- Translate regulatory and clinical requirements into usable, accessible interfaces
- Conduct user research with clinicians, administrators, and patients to uncover pain points and opportunities
- Create wireframes and prototypes for common understanding of vision and business requirements
- Collaborate with product managers, capability managers, sales and account management, system architects, care management (utilization) operations, claim operations, IT, and data analysts to ensure feasibility and alignment with business goals
- Obtain quotes from IT for design work for prioritization and to secure funding
- Contribute to a growing design system and advocate for design best practices across the team

- 5+ years of experience working in a complex matrixed work environment with competing priorities
- 3+ years of demonstrated Utilization Management experience
- 3+ years regulatory/compliance or UHN provider contractual experience
- 3+ years of demonstrated complex end-to-end (E2E) problem-solving experience
- 3+ years of experience using data for analysis, including excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- 2+ years Translation of abstract concepts into a common medium (e.g. Visio, Excel, Figma, etc.)
- Experience with E2E Third Party Administrator (TPA) workflows or payer-provider interactions.
- Proven excellent communication, influence, presentation and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in product or UX design in healthcare or a TPA environment
- 3+ years of consulting experience
- 3+ years working with Agile teams
