Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start up and decommissioning and field engineering.The Commissioning Support Manager is the go-to person for client-facing support and project setup. They help plan the work, build relationships, and make sure the team is set up to execute. They’re the face of commissioning to select clients, a technical sounding board for the field, and a regional builder helping the division grow.#LI-TM1Key ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Support project teams with planning and setup for commissioning execution.
- Help develop staffing plans, commissioning budgets, and schedules for proposals and active jobs.
- Track project milestones, forecast resource needs, and align commissioning support with construction progress.
- Own the proposal scope and budget for specific clients or projects.
- Provide guidance and support for SCADA checkout, database updates, End-to-End testing, and energization planning.
- Review project schedules and coordinate with operations, engineering, and client teams.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with assigned clients.
- Act as main point of contact for commissioning on key client accounts.
- Lead client feedback meetings, scorecard reviews, and routine check-ins.
- Identify new opportunities and support marketing of commissioning services to external customers.
- Lead or support proposal development: scope definition, clarifications, scheduling, and pricing.
Leadership & Team Support
- Provide backup and troubleshooting support for Commissioning Managers and project leads.
- Help assign startup and commissioning personnel based on skillset and workload.
- Support field engineers and techs with planning tools, documentation, and technical guidance.
- Interface with HR to track staffing needs and assign team members to upcoming work.
- May act as Commissioning Manager for specific projects when needed.
Planning & Process Ownership
- Coordinate closely with construction proposal teams to ensure commissioning is properly scoped and supported.
- Help build out the execution plan and documentation package early in the job.
- Support continuous improvement – drive updates to tools, processes, templates, and systems.
- Champion lessons learned and make sure improvements are implemented across other jobs.
- Track project budgets and resource burn rates, and support corrective action where needed.
