Job description: WORK LOCATIONThis is not remote but an in-office position based in Indianapolis, IN.Summary/Objective:Indiana Members Credit Union is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance & Business Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic team. This in-person role is ideal for someone with a strong background in financial services, accounting, or finance, who is passionate about transforming data into actionable insights. You will play a key role in analyzing financial performance, member behavior, and operational efficiency to support strategic decision-making and enhance member value.Duties/Responsibilities:Essential functionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
- Collect, analyze and interpret financial and operational data to support business decisions.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that highlight key financial and performance metrics.
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure alignment of BI reporting with financial reporting standards.
- Conduct trend analysis on member behavior, financial performance, and market conditions.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular audits and validation processes.
- Utilize tools such as Power BI, SQL Server, and Excel to perform advanced data analysis and reporting.
- Recommend and implement data-driven process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives with data insights.
Work environment
- This is an in-office position based in Indianapolis, IN.
Physical demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 15 pounds.
Travel required
- Minimal travel required; occasional local travel for meetings or training may be necessary.
Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Required: Minimum 2 years of experience working in a financial institution or in a finance/accounting role.
- Proficiency in Power BI, SQL Server, and Excel for data analysis and visualization.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and business intelligence concepts.
- Experience designing and building dashboards and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred: Experience with statistical methods, forecasting, and predictive analytics.
- Previous credit union experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
