MAAC Community Charter School (MCCS) is a high school of choice and opportunity that is sponsored by the MAAC non-profit agency and is authorized by the Sweetwater Union High School District. MCCS is located in Chula Vista, California and is the only charter high school in the area that targets at-risk students between the ages of 14-20 who have struggled to succeed in large, traditional public schools for a variety of reasons. Those reasons include: loss of interest, deficit of academic credits, limited English proficiency, failure to pass the CAHSEE, lack of transportation or child care, family problems, transiency, financial need, homelessness, substance abuse, truancy, behavioral issues, and incarceration.DEFINITION
A Clinical Supervisor oversees and guides clinical staff, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care and adherence to ethical and legal standards. They provide supervision, training, and support to clinicians, manage caseloads, and contribute to the development of treatment plans. Clinical Supervisors also play a role in staff evaluation, policy implementation, and ensuring compliance with regulationsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. • Supervision and Support: Providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to clinical staff, including licensed and unlicensed clinicians.
• Clinical Oversight: Ensuring the quality and effectiveness of clinical services, including reviewing treatment plans, case notes, and other documentation.
• Training and Development: Conducting training sessions, facilitating case conferences, and promoting professional development among staff.
• Compliance and Ethics: Ensuring adherence to clinical, legal, and ethical standards, as well as relevant regulations and policies.
• Administrative Tasks: Managing caseloads, coordinating staff schedules, participating in recruitment and hiring, and contributing to policy development. Managing and ensuring file archiving and responding to requests as needed.
• Communication and Collaboration: Facilitating communication between staff and management, and collaborating with other departments as needed.
• Problem-Solving: Addressing escalated clinical issues, client complaints, and challenging cases.
• Quality Assurance: Monitoring and evaluating clinical outcomes, ensuring accurate documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
• Caseload Management: Ensuring appropriate caseload distribution and that clinicians are meeting billing and/or documentation requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Knowledge of:

• Youth guidance principles and practices for students with disabilities under an Individualized Educational Plan
• Instructional policies and procedures relating to students with disabilities.
• Safe practices in classroom and outdoors activities.
• Subjects taught in schools, including math, grammar, spelling, language and reading, Social Science and Science.
• Basic instructional methods and techniques.
• Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
• Classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct.
• Operation of standard office and classroom equipment.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
• Basic recordkeeping techniques.

Ability to:

• Assist with instruction and related activities in a classroom or assigned learning environment.
• Effectively work with emotionally, physically and/or mentally impaired students.
• Reinforce instruction to individual and/or small groups of students as directed by the Special Education Coordinator or teacher.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials.

• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Monitor, observe and report student behavior progress according to approved policies and procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION

• Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy AND Active registration with BBS
• 4 years working as a mental health clinician with youth and families, clinical supervision in Spanish, school-based setting, and transitional age youth: 16-24.
• Clinical Expertise: A strong understanding of mental health conditions, treatment options, and best practices. Direct experience with transitional age youth population is preferred.
• Ability to Provide Clinical Supervision in the state of California: 4 years of experience providing clinical supervision is preferred. Experience providing clinical supervision in Spanish preferred.
• Leadership and Management: Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to identify and address challenges, analyze data, and develop solutions.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport with clients, staff, and stakeholders. Direct experience working in schools and the youth mental health system of care is preferred.
• Cultural Competency and humility: Sensitivity and awareness of diverse cultural backgrounds and needs. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
