This position involves hands-on tasks such as soldering, assembly, and repair, working closely with engineering teams to bring innovative projects to life. You will contribute to high-profile projects for the Navy, Space Industry avionics, and major defense contractors.Responsibilities
- Assemble and support high-quality electrical and mechanical systems for space applications.
- Perform soldering tasks, including through-hole and surface mount techniques.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, test, and reassemble components.
- Conduct work under a microscope with small components like 20 and 32 gauge wires.
- Work according to NASA Space and Defense specs and J-Std with Space Addendum.
Essential Skills
- 3-7+ years of experience in soldering, through-hole and surface mount techniques, and PC board assembly.
- Proficiency in using a microscope for assembly tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering sketches.
- Experience in testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting avionics electronics and electro-mechanical components.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in assembly for space, defense, or aerospace products.
- Familiarity with prototype, R&D, and new product development areas.
- IPC Certifications and experience with J-Std, ideally with Space Addendum.
Work EnvironmentWork in a smaller shop environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration. The company is a product-oriented space-technology firm operating in commercial, space, and defense markets, providing rugged aerospace-grade data-acquisition and control systems.
