Headquartered in Houston TX.Role Overview:We’re hiring an experienced Master Electrician who specializes in transformer and substation systems, including control cabinet testing. This role is crucial in ensuring preventative maintenance and diagnostic precision across high-voltage systems. You’ll lead field operations, coordinate testing protocols, and mentor junior electricians while ensuring safety and compliance at every level.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose, repair, and maintain power transformers and substation systemsConduct in-depth control cabinet testing (relay coordination, wiring checks, circuit validation)Perform TTR, Megger, DGA, and insulation resistance testingLead transformer oil sampling, vacuum filling, and field commissioningInterpret complex electrical schematics and single-line diagramsCollaborate with engineers, clients, and contractors on system upgradesDocument inspections, test results, and modificationsUphold safety and regulatory complianceTrain and supervise junior field staffQualifications:Required:Valid Master Electrician license (U.S.A)10+ years of industrial or utility-scale electrical experience5+ years working with substations and transformer systemsProven expertise in control cabinet diagnostics and fault isolationFamiliar with high-voltage safety procedures and PPE requirementsAbility to work independently and lead on-site teamsPreferred:Background in utilities, renewable energy, or industrial power systemsExperience with SCADA and telemetry systemsKnowledge of NETA/IEEE testing standardsIf this sounds like your next career move, get in touch.
