We encourage you to visit our website at to learn more about our organization and who we are.Position Overview: The Apprentice Electrician, under the direction of the Master Electrician, is responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of Industrial electrical equipment and systems. This position will be responsible for following the directions of the Journeyman Electrician to complete electrical maintenance and repair work.Job Duties:
- The Apprentice Electrician will support the Electrician by performing basic tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of electrical projects.
- Complete maintenance work orders on electrical equipment. Testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment and replacing defective parts.
- Collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and resolve problems.
- Ensures optimal performance of personal equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintains up-to-date job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
Skills/Qualifications:
- MSHA Certification is preferred.
- 2-4 years of electrical apprenticeship preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical codes.
- Possessing the ability to understand schematics and technical manuals.
- Must be dependable and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug screen.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Essential Requirements:
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures, outside majority of the time.
- Work is performed on limited or restricted surfaces.
- Ability to work and maneuver in tight spaces, such as a confined space.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors
- Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time for required tasks.
- If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability are required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
- Use of respirator if position requires.
- Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following:
- Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day
- Standing
- Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
