Coordinates diagnostic testing, prescription refills and authorizations, referrals to specialists and community services, and follow up care with medical oncologists. Process incoming referrals and scheduling patients. Provide ongoing education and assessment, refer patients to ancillary services as needed, provide supportive listening and engage in end-of-life conversation and preparations, and advocate for patients’ informed decision making. Develops, implements, and organizations the Navigator position with Oncology Nursing Manager, Oncologists, and referring providers.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Essential Job Functions:

Education:
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
Desired: BSN in nursing, certificate in specialty area
Experience:
Required: 3 years nursing experience.
Desired: Previous Oncology Nurse Navigator Experience
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations:
Current RN license in the State of Oregon.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Possesses knowledge of the scope and complexity of the patient’s age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial well-being served by the Oncology Clinic. Ability to communicate therapeutically. Self-motivated, responsible, role model well organized.

Clear and effective verbal communication is essential, as is the ability to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Visual acuity is necessary for observing patient conditions, reading documentation and monitors, and distinguishing colors for clinical purposes, such as identifying medications or safety indicators. Tactile perception is also important for assessing physical characteristics such as temperature, size, shape, or texture during patient care. Motor coordination is required for reaching, grasping, handling, and performing fine motor tasks necessary for the use of medical equipment and procedures. The position also involves occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling when assisting patients or accessing equipment. Walking and standing are typically intermittent throughout the shift. May need to sit for long periods.Working Conditions:This position is performed primarily remote in an indoor environment, such as an in-home office, or clinic. While the work setting is protected from outdoor weather conditions, it may be subject to variable indoor temperatures. 40 Hours USD $38.59/Hr. USD $62.58/Hr. 01-3032 Chemo Therapy Day
