Job description: The Department of Neurology is seeking a Social/Clinical Research Manager for the Palta Lab, to support data analysis, writing of scientific manuscripts, and interpretation and delivery of results for multi-center clinical research studies. Independently work on manuscripts and analyses. A key role of this position is to collaborate at a high level to determine, direct, or initiate analysis for scientific manuscripts. Must be able to apply statistical methods to clinical research studies, convey clear and concise information directly with national and internationally known scientists in health research and high-level NIH agency officials. This position will also hold duties as a lead or co-author, and provide input on direction, and content of an analysis for projects.
Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsMaster’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned; or Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and two years of research/analysis, preferably with one year in a supervisory role; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and ExperienceMust have thorough knowledge of applied aspects of observational and clinical study design, data analysis, research data management, and statistical programming. Demonstrated ability to collaborate at a high level to determine, direct, or initiate analysis for research manuscripts. Ability to communicate effectively, conveying clear and concise statistical results, verbally and in written form. Superior interpersonal skills are required for the position’s frequent interaction with scientists, programmers, and other statisticians in multi-center collaborative research studies.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and ExperienceAdvanced level computing skills using SAS software and experience analyzing neurocognitive data in prospective cardiovascular cohort studies.
