Job description: Job Title: Electrical DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate will use AutoCAD and Revit to perform electrical design on various projects including multifamily, K-12, municipal, mixed-use, and city supportive projects. This role involves coordinating with architects and clients, calculating lighting requirements, and working well in a team environment alongside drafters and engineers.Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to perform electrical design on multifamily, K-12, municipal, mixed-use, and city supportive projects.
- Coordinate with architects and clients to ensure project specifications are met.
- Calculate lighting requirements in both Revit and AutoCAD.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment with drafters and engineers.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong in electrical engineering and electrical design.
- Ability to perform lighting calculations.
- Familiarity with NEC codes.
- Experience in equipment selection and generator design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 3-10 years of experience in electrical design with an AEC firm.
- EIT or Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
- Ability to think outside the box and work independently.
Work EnvironmentThe office hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You will be working in a collaborative setting alongside Revit/CAD techs, MEP designers, and MEP engineers, with the freedom to perform your tasks without micromanagement. Projects will range across Hampton Roads, Virginia Beach, Richmond, and the Outer Banks. The dress code is business casual.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 – $85000.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
