Job description: Job Title: Electrical DesignerJob DescriptionAs an Electrical Designer, you will provide technical and design services in support of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary project team, you will produce electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for higher education, healthcare, and other commercial/industrial facilities. You will be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager, Senior Electrical Engineer, and design team.Responsibilities
- Provide technical and design services for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems.
- Produce electrical design/construction drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with Project Manager, Senior Electrical Engineer, and design team to complete tasks within budget and on schedule.
- Work independently as well as part of a project team.
Essential Skills
- 1+ years of experience in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit design.
- Two-year degree in computer-aided drafting, electrical systems technology, or related technical field.
- Good technical and communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically, precisely, and consistently.
- Ability to tolerate changes in work schedule.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associates degree in engineering-related background or a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with arc flash analysis and coordination studies using SKM software.
- Experience with drafting and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or ability to quickly obtain through reciprocity.
- 2+ years of experience providing technical and design services for power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Strong interest in Electrical Design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
