Job description: SCR Commissioning & Field Service Specialist
Plan, assemble, modify, validate, and maintain test equipment and assemblies. Do this by reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and sketches. Helps engineers use test equipment to get performance data on parts and assemblies under varying conditions. Collects, compiles, and summarizes test data. Review results with Engineering to resolve issues, such as equipment malfunctions and incomplete data. Diagnose test equipment malfunctions and equipment repair equipment as needed.
- Objective:
- Responsible for the installation, commissioning, and start-up of (SCR) Selective Catalytic Reduction
- Familiarize all major subsystems of copper and aluminum rod mills sold to customers. Provide process installation guidance and support.
- The SCR Commissioning & Field Service Specialist will work with other areas of the organization. They will drive improvements in processes and equipment supplied by SCR.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work independently to supervise customer installation of SCR systems.
- Use in-depth knowledge and experience to Install, configure, commission, and troubleshoot subsystems of the continuous processing system including pumps, motors, and valves.
- Solve complex problems to identify process and/or equipment improvement opportunities.
- Assist in the specifications, installation, and modification of SCR systems.
- Manage the SCR service program. It includes audits, vibration analysis, and a PM program for end users.
- Develop and maintain PM documents for SCR equipment sold to end users.
- Performs customer training on features and general maintenance of the systems.
- Must have a good understanding of equipment functions and be able to transfer operational knowledge to
- Customers and new employees via training, publications, and presentations.
- Function as a resource to answer technical questions posed by our existing and prospective customers and new employees.
- Produce daily progress reports during startups and field service visits.
- Prepare reports. Analyze data. Recommend ways to improve operations and fix maintenance issues.
- Must clearly document customer visits, process audits, and problem-solving approach during troubleshooting.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 15+ years direct experience
- Field of Expertise: Installation and maintenance of industrial equipment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Must have effective communication and organizational skills. Be a strong collaborator. Have strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Be flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
- Initiative-taker with a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement requiring minimal supervision.
- Proven experience of successful completion of projects.
- AutoCAD experience or ability to learn to use this software is desired.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals.
- International travel, potentially multiple weeks duration at a time, of up to 25% is required.
Expected salary: $90000 – 120000 per year
