This role is on site.Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.This role is part of a talented engineering team where you will work alongside product, architecture, and dev-ops teams to build high-quality data pipelines for healthcare solutions aggregating clinical data from our portfolio of medical devices.What You’ll Work OnCreate, deploy and optimize large scale dataUse extensive data engineering expertise to design and build solutions/ products for analyzing large data sets and identify patterns and relationshipsManage data sources, organize data and create data assets using identified open source or proprietary toolsDesign, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals.Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that help the organization achieve its goals.Code in Python and Scala with tools like Apache Spark/Kafka to build a multi-cluster data warehouse.Interact with other technology teams to define, prioritize, and ensure smooth deployments for other operational components.Advise, consult, mentor, and coach other data and analytics professionals on data standards and practices.Foster a culture of sharing, reuse, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions.Codify best practices for future reuse in the form of accessible, reusable patterns, templates, and code bases to facilitate data capturing and management.Code in SQL to create curated data products.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in any of the following – Math, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Sciences Experience leading & executing complex (multi stakeholder/multiyear) contract negotiations or equivalent of years of experience in similar role.Minimum 3 years of experience or master’s degree and one year internship or equivalent of years of experience.Preferred QualificationsStrong problem-solving skillsExperience in any from MS Azure, AWS, Python, Spark, hive, HBase, Hadoop, Kafka, YARN etc.Attention to detail and organization/ documentation skillsAbility to prioritize and triage deadline-driven tasks in a high-pressure environmentBasic knowledge of distributed computing, parallel processing and large-scale data managementExperience manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data from varying sourcesAbility to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, actionable mannerLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
