Job description: We are looking for a BESS Commissioning Manager- Analytics on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contact position (W-2) The primary role is to conduct plant testing, performance testing, ISO/GIA/PPA Testing and startup of a Battery Energy Storage System and Solar Coupled Power systems. To act as the Owner’s representative to oversee aspects of the energy storage system including compliance, status reporting, safety, startup, commissioning, and testing. Employees in this role manage and report on commissioning, and performance testing work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site.Location : RemoteThis is a 1 yr. contact position (W-2)The position involves occasional travel within the United States to project locations for testing purposes, with an estimated travel frequency of up to 25%. The remaining work is primarily remote, focused on providing support through SCADA monitoring.Reports To: Client Senior Cx Project ManagerJob Responsibilities:
- Participates in safety program and audits
- Support PPA Testing with Customer, GIA Testing with TO and ISO testing
- Manage test energy forecast with the customer
- Support ICCP IT SCADA Team and SCADA PM/Lead with functional checks
- Work with SCADA Integrator and Execution Commissioning Project manager to develop a Commissioning schedule based on Mechanical completion
- Work with SCADA integrator and Commissioning Manger to execute site acceptance testing.
- Support CEWIS Critical Point Checkout with ROCC alarm checks/PGD
- Perform OEM Testing, Plant Balancing, Capacity Testing and notification of AVR/AGC and support
- Review performance data for deficiencies
Required Skill Sets:
- Battery Energy Storage Systems installation and startup
- Must have a thorough understanding of the technical, performance, and integration of Li-Ion batteries as part of ESS
- Commissioning process creation
- Understanding of containerized systems, skids, controllers/SCADA, transformers, combiners
- Thorough understanding of DC systems (0-2,000Vdc) and AC systems (480V-34.5kV)
- Experience with control and SCADA systems and troubleshooting
- Organizations skills
- Computer skills MS word, Excel and MS PowerPoint
- Communication to third parties and executives
- Ability to effectively organize and strategize schedules and plans.
Preferred Background:Engineering or professional electrical career in power systems construction and startup with min 100MW-hr or 5 EA energy storage systems and commissioning. A background with BESS is required.
