Job description: Our client, a leading provider of AI-based security detection solutions designed to protect high-volume foot traffic locations like airports, is seeking a motivated FPGA Engineer with a moderate level of experience. In this role, you will assist in designing and testing digital circuits, and help create custom hardware solutions that are critical for industries requiring high-performance computing. This position is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of electrical engineering who is eager to expand their skill set, particularly in FPGA design and RF technologies.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of FPGA-based solutions for AI-driven security detection systems.
- Create custom hardware solutions tailored to high-volume environments such as airports.
- Build and troubleshoot cable assemblies, debug power supply issues, and test custom LED boards.
- Perform testing with standard electrical equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and refine hardware for performance optimization.
- Learn and apply RF (Radio Frequency) principles and technologies to support product development.
- Use Arduinos and Python to assist in hardware testing, automation, and debugging tasks.
- Participate in circuit design, prototyping, and component selection as part of the development process.
- Assist in the documentation of designs, testing procedures, and results.
Qualifications:
- Moderate experience in FPGA design and testing or relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Familiarity with digital circuit design and development.
- Experience with creating cable assemblies, testing power supplies, and working with custom LED boards.
- Proficiency with standard electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters).
- Basic knowledge or interest in learning RF technologies and principles.
- Experience with Arduinos and Python programming for hardware testing and automation is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to troubleshoot hardware and electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with FPGA design tools such as Vivado, Quartus, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of AI-based security systems or high-performance computing hardware.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Expected salary: $100000 – 120000 per year
