At United Utility, we are committed to powering progress and fostering a diverse, inclusive work environment.About The RoleA commercial/industrial apprentice helps the electrician install, service and repair wiring, conduits, fixtures and other electrical devices and systems in an industrial or commercial setting. Industrial/commercial apprentices may work in different industries. They often work primarily either in maintenance or in construction, and their specific duties may depend on the employer. All work performed by an industrial/commercial apprentice must meet the regulations of the National Electrical Code.Key Responsibilities

Key InfoWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to outdoor elements.The position must have the ability to lift heavy objects weighing at times up to 50 pounds and carry that weight a minimum of 20 feet on a regular, recurring basis. Must have the ability to walk over uneven, steep, or difficult terrain for distances of over one mile on a regular, recurring basis and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Must be able to work in an aerial lift device with a weight limit of 350 pounds. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to climb up to and onto elevated equipment and stand for long periods of time. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
