We are currently seeking an Electrical Design Intern to join our St. Louis, MO engineering team and provide direct support to our engineers, designers, and project managers.As an intern, you will aid in a wide range of responsibilities from the project design and layout phase to the supervision of design installation on project sites, as defined in the primary job duties section, below.Guarantee seeks ambitious, innovative individuals with the ability to grow and maintain value-added relationships with our team and external customers.Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare detailed electrical and construction installation documents and provide engineering support during the construction phase of projects to our project management and field installation employees.
- Gathers and requests specific information from other design disciplines necessary to move forward and complete the electrical design on schedule.
- Performs engineering calculations and studies for such items as power distribution system design, lighting levels and coordination, etc.
- Develop the electrical design so that it can be inputted using REVIT/Navisworks. Check all designs prepared by design team for quality and accuracy.
- Works with project managers as need to develop engineered construction installation drawings from contract documents developed by outside firms.
- Provides technical support to project managers, field personnel, estimators, and customers.
- Develop conceptual designs, sketches or Value Engineering ideas to assist project managers or estimators in the preparation of an estimate.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Education:Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or similar program of study.Preferred Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- High level of organization.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Must work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
- Can speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
