Job DescriptionWe are seeking an energetic, outgoing, and dynamic Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role, ideal for someone with a positive, can-do attitude and a creative approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of design and/or manufacturing experience and a passion for developing innovative products from concept to completion.Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines and goals are met.
- Develop new products incorporating structural, mechanical, and electrical design.
- Create innovative system-level designs and improve existing designs.
- Maintain and create bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and production time estimates.
- Resolve discrepancies between standard and actual costs and assist in costing new products.
- Source parts through new and existing supply chains.
- Collaborate with factory staff, vendors, and customers to ensure project success.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field, OR equivalent expertise in Electrical System Design.
- 5 years of design and/or manufacturing experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and bills of materials.
- Experience with Electrical System design in low and medium voltages.
- AC Motor Control experience including Variable Frequency Drives, Transducers, Motor Starters, etc.
- PLC programming experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects with a proven record of delivering results, and building long term relationships.
- Strong communication skills with ability to effectively interface with factory, sales staff, vendors, and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D modeling software.
- Strong technical writing skills.
Prefered Skills & Abilities
- 2+ years of experience managing design projects from inception to completion.
- Advanced knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Product design experience, with an emphasis on sheet metal components.
