Job description: Electrical – Controls Engineer Opportunity!A local, fast-growing, nationally-acclaimed manufacturer is seeking an Electrical-Controls Engineer to lead the design, modernization, and installation oversight of control systems for industrial specialty equipment. As Electrical-Controls Engineer, the focus is on developing and implementing cutting-edge automation solutions to optimize performance and efficiency. Be part of the effort to insource controls design and integration and continue to support the crème de la crème of product offerings in the sector!Electrical-Controls Engineer Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience programming and troubleshooting automation equipment and related controls in a profession setting, with preference being given to experience in manufacturing/production environments
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with I&E/control system emphasis), or equivalent experience is required.
- Proficiency with PLCs and automation practices is required.
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal/S7 and Rockwell RSlogix5000 is preferred.
- Familiarity with FactoryTalk, WinCC and/or Wonderware InTouch HMI systems is preferred.
- The ability to apply engineering principles to solve design problems is essential.
- The capacity to work independently with minimal supervision is necessary.
- Willingness to travel for project support is expected.
- Excellent communication and computer skills are required.
Electrical-Controls Engineer Responsibilities:
- PLC-based automation control systems are designed and deployed, integrating motion control, sensors, VFD drives, and actuators.
- Ongoing support for existing systems is provided, troubleshooting and ensuring seamless functionality.
- Level 1 control systems are programmed based on function descriptions and layouts.
- Collaboration with project teams, internal experts, and customers to engineer solutions for technical challenges.
- Comprehensive testing and simulation of systems are conducted prior to delivery.
- On-site commissioning and training sessions are executed as required.
