Job description: THE POSITIONOperative Office is seeking a talented and motivated Project Designer to join our team in Los Angeles. As a Project Designer, you will work in collaboration with the Design Principal and project team to design, coordinate and document mid-rise, affordable multi-family projects as well as community-serving civic and commercial projects through all phases of design. Candidates must exhibit strong, organization, communication, and critical thinking skills, as well as a well developed conceptual design approach.ABOUT USOperative Office is an integrated architecture and development practice, specializing in affordable housing and community-anchored projects that are thoughtfully designed, intelligently financed, efficiently built, and made to last. By bringing design innovation and strategic development under one roof, we tackle complex challenges with uncommon creativity.QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Architecture or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Minimum 2-5 years of professional design experience in an architecture office
- Strong design sense with strong graphic and technical skills including fluency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, rendering software (V-Ray, Enscape, or Twinmotion), physical model-making, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience designing and producing permit construction documents – experience with multifamily affordable housing a plus
- Experience engaging with project consultants
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to be involved in all aspects of a project
- Strong team collaboration and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
- Resident of Los Angeles or in the vicinity of Los Angeles required for a hybrid work environment with a minimum of three days per week in the office
- We require applicants to have the legal right and authorization in place to work in the US when applying for this position
