Reporting to the Associate Director, IT and Business Operations (UHRL-IT), the Database Administrator serves as a member of UHRL’s IT team and primarily supports the Cloud-based Housing Management System, StarRez. Through Cloud based computing, web services, and APIs, this position is responsible for database structures, report development, dashboards, and data analytics. The Database Administrator coordinates system implementations, upgrades, and modifications to maintain data integrity, collaborates with various support groups to enhance system performance and builds data schematics to make Housing data accessible to other campus partners through data warehousing and dashboards. This position acts as a liaison with other departments for various technology-related functions and works toward maximizing the production, processing, analyzing and dissemination of housing data. This position develops applications using REST APIs and integrates applications with SQL Server and Oracle databases. Additionally, this position translates user stories to solutions, development of components, databases, interfaces, services, and other modules of applications, as well as co-facilitates committee groups with Housing Operations. Performs other duties as assigned.The Office of UHRL Information Technology’s primary function is to provide system support of StarRez and interfaced systems as well as support all hardware-related functions of the unit. The department supports all technical aspects of UHRL including but not limited to server support, process and database development, and application security compliance.Required Education and Experience
