Start Bus discounts, WRS Pension, and so much more!Email questions to or call (307)732-8483.SUMMARY: Performs a wide variety of administrative and technical support functions of a highly responsible nature in relieving a Program Manager, Department Director, or Elected Official of technical, organizational, and administrative duties; manages sensitive and confidential issues; performs special assignments and resolves operational issues, using knowledge of the operations and policies of Teton County and the assigned department.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. - Independently plans and coordinates executive support functions and services, including special projects, special program activities, managing calendars, coordinating activities, data management, record keeping, research, and providing informed and confidential technical assistance to County department, staff, and clients; assures that action items are properly processed, managed, and resolved; performs duties in accordance with County policy and procedures, and within scope of authority; duties may vary according to job assignment and work skills.
- Assists work group with County administrative support functions, technical procedures, and program administration; manages sensitive and confidential issues; explains rules, policies, and procedures; works independently, and makes appropriate decisions based on experience.
- Exercises initiative in performing technical assignments and resolving problems; develops and creates technical and operational documents and reports; applies judgment and knowledge of the operations of the work group to resolve problems and make work process decisions; refers matters requiring policy interpretation to supervisor for resolution.
- Manages special projects and assignments, covering a wide variety of subjects requiring knowledge of the procedures and policies of the assigned Department; manages public meetings, hearings, and community events; develops, reviews, and edits memoranda, public announcements, legal notices, technical documents, and public relations communications including marketing and media releases, social media applications, and website content.
- Provides experienced customer service, information, and assistance to visitors, staff, and others doing business with the County; assists customers with requests, applications, government forms, and other documents.
- May assist in hiring, training, and evaluating assigned clerical staff; assign tasks and projects; and implement discipline guidelines as necessary.
- Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree and experience with Teton County is desirable.
- 3-5 years of clerical, technical, administrative support, and computer experience; OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Specific technical training and certification may be required for some incumbents.
- Must obtain Wyoming Notary Public license within 6 months of hire.
Required Knowledge of:
- County organization, operations, policies, and procedures.
- Applicable policies, procedures, and regulations covering specific areas of assignment.
- Federal and state laws, and local ordinances covering specific areas of assignment.
- County administration policies, including accounting, budgeting, payroll, and personnel rules.
- All requirements of executive-level administrative responsibilities.
- Principles of record keeping, case management, records retention, and confidential records management.
- English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, proofreading, and punctuation.
- Specialized County and state agency technical forms and software applications.
- Customer service principles, protocols, and methods.
- Local community resources and regional community issues.
- Business computers, standard MS Office software applications, specialized software applications and internet technologies.
Required Skills in:

- Understanding and applying relevant rules, ordinances, codes, regulations, policies, procedures, administrative orders, and other governing regulations.
- Interpreting and explaining policies and procedures of assigned department.

- Planning, prioritizing, and completing assignments with minimum supervision.
- Researching, compiling, and reviewing data for special projects, and preparing narrative and statistical reports.
- Meeting critical time deadlines and writing complex reports and correspondence from brief instructions.
